Happy Day, Sad Day

These are the pictures that reflect what made today a happy day. And then I went to a funeral and that's what made it a sad day. I was so thankful to come home to the wonderful sound of laughter.

Entertaining Princesses

Cinderella came to my house today. She entered my kitchen and asked if the music I was listening to was "Cinderella music" (classical music I play for Belle that she pretend ballet dances to).... it was actually Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Close.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my.

Last night we were driving home from my parents apartment and daddy and Jack had a funny conversation...

Jack: Daddy, where do mountain lions live? In the snowy mountains, or the grassy mountains?
Daddy: Actually Jack, there are mountain lions that live around here.
Jack: Well where are they?
Daddy: You probably will never see one.
Jack: Why not?
Daddy: Because they are afraid of people.
Jack: Why?
Daddy: Because the lions know that people can hurt them, and so they stay away.
Jack: That's right daddy, because we have guns, swords, spears and lassos.

Oh what a night

That's not a hat my little Belle is wearing, well, it is her "special" hat, made out of gauzy bandages she got today from our trip to the hospital. This wasn't her best day, poor thing. First, her finger got shut in the door and then the old high chair fell on her head leaving behind a lovely cut.... She's doing very well now. And the bandages.........it's a long story.

You know what daddy's doing here? He's letting the kids do something he knows I wouldn't like...and so you can imagine the look of surprise on his face when he realizes I'm not inside of the house but came out to take some pictures...


Daddy's not in trouble, after all, he did set up our picnic table for the summer... love you daddy!


A wonderful perfume factory set up shop in my back yard for a couple of weeks... I sooo wish it would stay much longer.





Now this is what happens when daddy gets a hold of the camera - there are one too many pictures that are focused on, well, other things. Thank you very much daddy! I really don't mind... I love that you love me!

Thanks to the birds I have a special decoration on my front door. How do they do that... I mean, they must do a little shimmy just as they are flying by the door. Lovely.

In the Kitchen

A little while ago my cousin came over and we baked some goodies with the kids.



After our cookies came out of the oven we made tea and had an impromptu tea party.
